There is no form on this page, because a form would mean running third-party code and logging visitors, and we have said elsewhere that we do neither. Email reaches a person.
What to write about
- Corrections
- If you believe something we published is factually wrong, tell us what and why. We will look, reply, and if we are wrong we will correct the text in place, date the correction, and list it on the publications page.
- Right of reply
- If we have written about you, your organisation, or your agency and you disagree with our interpretation, send us a signed response and we will publish it alongside the original.
- Questions about our method
- Our methodology page is meant to be detailed enough to reproduce. If something in it is unclear or looks wrong, we would genuinely rather hear it before publication than after.
- Research collaboration
- We are open to working with researchers, journalists, and organisations on questions within our scope, on the condition that findings are published openly and no party gets to approve conclusions in advance.
- Press
- We will explain our published findings and their limits to any journalist who asks. We do not comment on work in progress, and we do not offer figures that are not yet published.
What we cannot help with
We cannot give legal advice, and nothing on this site is legal advice. If you are facing a legal demand concerning something you published, you need a lawyer, and organisations that provide legal assistance to people in that position are better placed than we are.
We cannot remove content from platforms, contest removals, or intervene in any case. We cannot search records on your behalf for material concerning you, your client, or your company; our archives access is for research and using it as a lookup service for individuals would breach the terms under which it is granted.
If you believe you are the subject of a record we hold, write to us. We will explain what we have and how we treat it, but we cannot alter or delete records held in archives we do not control.

We do not currently operate an encrypted contact channel. If you need to send us something sensitive, say so in a first message without the sensitive content, and we will agree a route with you before you send it.
